Commute

Today was just a normal commute kind of a day, rode into work, then back home at the end of the day.   I detoured to swing by Race Pace on the way home, then stopped at Rash Field to capture this.
I would say it is officially spring now, using beach volleyball is not seen in March.

Inner Harbor

Got home from work in time for another ride, Kathleen is out riding the Wednesday Night World Championships (aka Twenty20's Fast Wednesday Night Group Ride).   I sprinted down to the Inner Harbor just in time to get catch this on pixels.
Then a quick noodle around the stadium and back to the house.

Evening Spin in the Park

I got home from work about 7PM this evening, and after a fairly gloomy gray day, the sun came out for the last couple of hours.  Kathleen is at Girls on Grapes with her running/wine drinking girlfriends  so I sprinted into the house and got my crap and shot out to ride around Patterson Park until it got too dark.   Here is the Pagoda on the hill as the sun sets behind it.
As always the Natty Boh man watches over the land of pleasant living.
The cherry trees at the duck pond are definitely thinking spring.
I did a couple of laps around and climbed the suffer hill on the Baltimore Avenue twice, then caught the Pagoda on my way home.
Now I am going to attempt to fix the handle on a duster.

Happy Saint Patrick's Day

Ahh, St. Patrick's Day, the day for green Budwiser.   I slept in a little then went out for a ride, Kathleen had gone off to ride the 20Twenty women's only group ride (55 miles at racer woman pace :) ).  My ride was a little more leisurely, up Bel Air road towards the land of giant rims on cars.  Fittingly enough, I passed Shamrock Road.
It was another gorgeous spring day today.  I wore short sleeves, thins socks, and bibs, in keeping with that I spotted another tree that has decided it's spring.
Weirdly after that I managed to find every industrial park on my way back to the house.

It can't be March

Another commute day today, fairly typical route out to work, nothing exciting to shoot pictures of.   It was an unbelievable day today for mid-March, about 60 degrees at 8:00AM when I left, mid 70's for the ride home.   Normally I would take the Gwynns Falls Trail home, but the gnats, my god the gnats.   I would ride through clouds of them, and they sounded like hail hitting my helmet and backpack.   After swallowing about a half a dozen of them I bailed on the trail at Baltimore Street and hit the streets.   While cutting over to Pratt Street to head downtown I spotted another mural on the side of a rowhouse.
Quite spectacular. Then it was off to the homestead to rustle up some dinner, Kathleen is off at Tri Club meeting tonight.

Commute

Just a quick one today, commuted to work on a gorgeous early spring morning, about 60 degrees and sunny out.   Not a whole lot new on my way to work, but these ducks (or maybe geese) were hanging out in Leon Day Park.
Then a normal office day, and at 6PM I changed into my superman suit (short sleeve jersey and summer gloves) and met Kathleen for the ride home. Totally forgot to take any pictures, but I did get my first flat on my new tubeless tires. It took a while and a cartridge of CO2 to get home, but after adding a little more sealant it did seal up. Have to see if it holds now.

Daylight Savings Time

As befitting the start of Daylight Savings Time, today was a gorgeous day, 60 degrees and sunny, so Kathleen & I went out for a ride this afternoon.   We headed up Washington Street to Lake Montebello, which was very popular, and scenic.
Then through Morgan State and north a little, passing by somebody's awesome birthday party.
We looped back around past Belvedere Square, then down through Roland Park, where the cherry trees have decided it's spring.
Then back down to the house for dinner.

Back in the Saddle

It has been too long between rides, between illness, work (I'm looking at you AIPAC Policy Conference), and a massive bout of food poisoning, I haven't been out as much as I would like.   But today was the day that changes, I've got a bunch of big plans for the spring, and I need to reharden my butt for them.   I got up and rode up to Lake Montebello at 7:00AM on what turned out to be a gorgeous spring day.  No big drama getting up there, then as I  rode around the lake I spotted this.
Not sure what the construction guys are up to but it involved a backhoe almost in the lake. I did another lap then stopped to catch this, always a nice morning at the lake, and by the contrails in the picture, the landing pattern for BWI was over Baltimore today.
Then it was time to turn back towards the house, I went over to Patterson Park to head back down, and saw this bit of urban art on North Avenue.
I believe that I saw this is part of a national project, but very striking 25' high on the building.  Then back to the house to get ready for another busy spring day at the office.
